Subject outline

This practicum subject takes place in the Psychology Clinic at La Trobe University. As part of this placement candidates will work in the clinic for approximately 15 weeks and undertake intake work, assessment of clients on the phone, case work with clients as well as administrative duties. The placement involves a range of experiences and trainees are expected to complete around 240 hours face to face therapy with adults and 256 hours face to face therapy with children and adolescents. Occasionally an equivalent practical experience may be conducted at an external agency.
