Subject outline
This unit will familiarise students with developmental models, parenting and assessment of various types of behavioural and emotional disorders in children and adolescents. The workshops and assessment formats are designed to enhance active learning. Students will be expected to read set material, conduct literature searches as directed and to engage in class discussion and presentations. The workshops will be selected from the following topics, normal and abnormal development, parenting, infancy, childhood and adolescent developmental disorders (eg ADHD, Autism), anxiety, depression, psychosis, assessment and treatment options.
