HONOURS RESEARCH PROJECT IN PROSTHETICS AND ORTHOTICS
POR5HRP
2015
Credit points: 45
Subject outline
In the preceding subject, POR5NAT Negotiated Advanced Topics, students developed a proposal for a research project covering: identification of a clinically important question, systematic review of the literature, method design and ethics application. In this subject students will execute their research proposal and, in doing so, develop experience with project planning, subject recruitment, obtaining informed consent, collection and analysis of data, interpretation of the results and dissemination of their findings through preparation of a journal-ready manuscript and oral presentation. Students will work closely with an experienced researcher who will supervise their progress and provide advice as they work through the project. Upon successful completion of the subject, students will have the ability to work relatively independently, to undertake a research project suitable for publication and presentation.
