Credit points: 30
Subject outline
In this subject the students will apply and extend their understanding of assessment and management of lower limb pathologies and explore surgical and pharmacological interventions in managing podiatric pathologies in the context of evidence and enquiry-based practices. The subject will complement and align with units of POD5HRF and POD5MCF. Students will develop their patient management skills through clinical practice at the University's on-site podiatry clinic and through the Clinical Network schools. Students will participate in a range of health care and human service activities, enhancing their understanding of organisation culture in various health settings. Some activities will be taught out of standard teaching weeks. Within the environment of the Clinical Network schools, students will consolidate and enhance clinical practice and management in various clinical practice settings for a five-week period to enable continuity and evaluation of their patient management.
