Credit points: 15

Subject outline

In this subject students will focus on the ethical obligations of counsellors as professional practioners in the contemporary context. Students will be expected to deal with their own readiness to take on such a responsibility and to consider what mechanisms need to be in place to ensure the clients' needs are appropriately met and to ensure that 'good' counselling practice occurs. The development of the counsellor as an ethical practitioner is considered from a number of contemporary ethical theories.
