OCT5PAE

2015

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

This subject provides the opportunity to examine a variety of paediatric occupational therapy interventions that are occupationally focussed. Both generic and specific interventions related to cognitive (e.g. cognitive orientation to occupational performance), physical (e.g. constraint induced movement therapy, goal directed training), contextual (e.g. home programs, routines based interventions) for children from birth to adolescence within occupational therapy practice will be covered. Students will learn how to make evidence-based decisions in order to apply interventions to specific clinical groups in paediatric practice. Students will learn to review and synthesise the evidence in an area of interest and explore future directions for research.
