Subject outline

In this subject students will complete 4-modules that provide foundational learning regarding the types of research required in this era to inform evidence-based nursing and midwifery practice, with attention to contemporary research methodology in these disciplines. The modules individually focus on introducing and explaining qualitative methods, quantitative methods, ethical concerns and practices, and useful computer programs. Content threaded through the modules include use of mixed methods and debate as to what evidence is actually required for nursing and midwifery practice. This subject provides essential research knowledge that can be built upon in the flexible-module subjects Research Processes A and/or B.
