Subject outline
The purpose of this subject is to enhance students' understanding of preventative and interventional child and adolescent mental health issues. Mental health nurses are often required to provide evidence-based preventative strategies, treatment, rehabilitation and support services specific to the child and adolescent population. Students in this subject will acquire indepth knowledge and skills regarding psychological growth and development of young people, learn about mental health issues that may require preventative and interventional strategies, and critically analyse relevant nursing interventions.
