In this subject students establish intermediate competence in speaking, reading and writing. This course enables students to practically apply their knowledge. Building on the skill set gained in JPN2003, this subject brings the total number of characters learnt to approximately 450.

A study-buddy system is encouraged whereby students work in twos, threes and fours outside of class. Students also work with different partners in class on a regular and rotating basis.
