Credit points: 15
Subject outline
In this subject students explore the core fundamentals of learning, mapping the processes in play as babies and toddlers explore their world through sound, touch, taste and experimentation. Students are presented with the theories about early learning alongside the practicalities of shaping the experiences of early learners. The notion of 'curriculum' for young children is addressed, including early mathematical processes; such as one to one correspondence, matching and sorting, memory, spatial reasoning and problem solving; and literacy including repetition, imitation, reading books, left/right orientation, drawing and writing.
