This subject introduces core concepts in accounting and finance as they apply to organisational decision-making. Students develop an understanding of methods used to analyse and interpret accounting and financial information and an ability to apply this knowledge to appraise and fund projects to maximise the value of businesses. Students also learn to create value through solving problems, thinking ethically, finding and using relevant information sources, and working effectively as a team.

Activities:
A process of collaborative learning is motivated by an assessment task in which students work in teams to teach each other through solving the tutorial problems. The students teamwork grade will be based on their success in teaching each other as reflected in the extent to which the students can score an average mark in the final exam greater than that scored in a similar quiz early in the semester.
