Subject outline
The aims of this unit are to provide an understanding of the principles and practices of environmental impact assessment, toxicology, risk assessment and environmental audits. Topics considered include concepts and principles of toxicology, risk analysis, hazard analysis, Geographical Information System (GIS), environmental audits and impact assessment including policy, legislation and administration at national, state and local level. A ten week workplacement (two days per week) equivalent to 160 hours in local industry is a compulsory component of this unit.
