Subject outline
Studio based design practice based around the concept of 'idea starters' as a method for the stimulation of creative thinking. Industry examples are examined as a basis for understanding process in communication design creation. The following ideas are considered as constructive 'elements' of idea creation: comparative juxtaposition, metamorphosis, blue humour, intentional misinterpretation, repetition and accumulation, omission and suggestion, illusion and parody â assigned projects may require one, or more, of these elements to be considered in the 'idea creation' part of the assignment, and the resolution of the idea through appropriate technologies, both analogue and digital, for satisfactory completion of the graphic communication.
