STC1CCO

2014

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

Constructing Communication introduces ways of understanding communication and the media. The subject begins with our everyday experiences of media and communication and approaches these through three modules: therories of communication, communication media and channels, and communication practice. The goal here is to demonstrate the fundaments of communication and that in trying to make sense of the media scholars go beyond immediate experiences to systematic ways of constructing knowledge from these experiences.
