Subject outline
This practicum unit takes place in the Psychology Clinic in the School and is viewed as an internal placement. As part of their internal placement candidates will work in the clinic for approximately a fifteen-week period. The internal placement includes intake work, assessment and interventions with clients and administrative duties organised by the Clinical Director. The client casework may involve adult, child, couple and family cases, and covers a wide range of disorders. Each candidate may also undertake psychometric, developmental, educational and neuropsychological assessments. Candidates must plan their casework thoughtfully, to encompass a range of cases. Casework is supervised by the academic clinical staff and experienced external clinicians.
