Subject outline

In this subject, students will gain specialised knowledge of specific areas of assessment, prescription, measurement, casting, fabrication, fitting and evaluation of upper limb orthoses. This subject is designed to develop students' understanding of upper limb orthotic management, including applied anatomy, pathomechanics and an introduction to a range of upper limb specific pathologies. This subject will enable students to demonstrate their understanding of the theory of upper limb orthotic management by providing practical experience in the application of orthoses for the upper limb.
