Subject outline
In this subject students examine the effects of social, cultural and attitudinal factors on individual responses to developmental and health transitions and identify those social conditions which encourage independent functioning and the maintenance of health. Topic areas are selected from gender and health, technology and health, life-course transitions, and culturally diverse community groups. Particular attention is paid to the implication for practicing health promotion and rehabilitation.
