Subject outline
In this subject students will explore the various clinical, spiritual and ethical aspects related to caring for people with life limiting illness. Students will gain an understanding of the core principles of palliative care, including effective communication in response to grief, loss, uncertainty and diverse cultural and spiritual challenges. Core principles of palliative care will be examined, with the focus on understanding principles of clinical and supportive care management. Students will further develop their capacity for self-reflection and evaluation, specifically in the area of attitudes and beliefs on death, dying and spirituality.
