Subject outline

Students plan and undertake a 3-day supervised outdoor teaching practice, and a negotiated program of field experience to extend their outdoor education preparation. Students learn to prepare teaching plans, and safety management plans informed by a study of serious incidents. Students are encouraged to build on their experience in specialist areas of their choice. Field experience may include advanced skill development, work placement (Practicum) or peer trip leading.

Lecture Week: 10 - 22
One 2.0 hours lecture per week on weekdays during the day from week 10 to week 22 and delivered via face-to-face.

One 1.0 hours lecture other recurrence on weekdays during the day from week 10 to week 12 and delivered via face-to-face.

Field Trip Week: 10 - 22
One 8.0 days field trip per study period on any day including weekend during the day from week 10 to week 22 and delivered via face-to-face.
