CLINICAL PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT
NSG5CPD
2014
Credit points: 20
Subject outline
In this subject students are introduced to the context and development of evidence based practice and critically examine what counts for evidence in the development of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs). While Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) students are expected to develop a clinical guideline during this unit, other students are expected to critically examine and update a clinical guideline. In this way all students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the principles of evidence based practice. Students are encouraged to build a personal portfolio of protocols and/or CPGs that can be used in their clinical practice. For some students this would also be used as part of their Nurse Practitioner portfolio for the Nurses Board.
