Subject outline

In this subject students will integrate and consolidate their knowledge and skills in the delivery of person-centred care for a caseload of patients with complex health needs. Subject themes of advanced symptom management; patient advocacy; teamwork and preparation for professional practice will be addressed by the development of a professional portfolio and a clinical practicum that will encompass focused assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients and their families as well as the role of the nurse in the multidisciplinary team. The clinical placement will take place in a variety of acute, sub-acute and community care settings.
