Subject outline
In this subject students will be introduced to nursing within the Australian health care context. Areas to be covered inlcude the Australian health care system, clinical reasoning, communication in health care, law and ethics in Australian health care, risk management including infection control, mental health issues, medication management, caring for vulnerable groups, community nursing, perioperative care and investigations and fluid and elctrolyte balance. The subject also has a clinical hurdle component. Successful completion of this subject will enable students to apply to the AHPRA for registration.
