Subject outline
In this subject students will build on the knowledge and skills obtained in Comprehensive Health Assessment and Advanced Intensive Care Nursing Practice. The subject requires students to examine and develop a range of clinical interventions aimed at managing a 'complex' patient. The subject uses a variety of educational activities to help students understand the physiological, psychological and social needs of this patient cohort and explore the interventions aimed at meeting those needs. Students are encouraged to build a personal portfolio of skills that can be brought together in different ways to provide complex care of a quality standard. Each student will also demonstrate the ability to function as a member in an intensive care team.
