Subject outline
In this subject nursing students will gain confidence and competence in managing communication interactions in a diversity of challenging professional encounters. The subject content will be based on a foundation of awareness of self and others. Students will be introduced to two enquiries that focus on complex communication interactions around culture awareness, family dynamics, altered mental health, bullying and harassment, aggression, grief, death and dying, and other common situations that nurses encounter in their professional life. The subject will be experientially-based and students will also engage in related activities in the online environment.
