Subject outline

In this subject students will investigate what makes screen and sound performance distinct from live perfomance. Students will do critical and creative projects on topics such as: performing for large and small screens; the close-up and the face; action bodies and embodied voices; stars, fans and the plastic self; TV audiences as performers in talent, quiz and reality shows; human voice-overs and non-human characters in animation; the affective voice in radio and sound plays; indigenous and national performance styles; performing the self in social media.
