This subject is an introduction to the grammar and reading of Latin. Our aim is to commence the reading of the texts at an early stage, and also to learn the paradigms, basic grammatical concepts, and translation skills, especially from Latin into English. We will also study the Roman cultural context of the Latin language, including some core value terms used in Roman daily life. The aim is for students to acquire the basic elements of the grammar of Latin, its syntax and its vocabulary.
