Humanities 1 SAS is designed to help students with the transition to university study. Students will learn to identify strategies and methodologies that support learning in an academically stimulating and supportive environment. Using a combination of face to face and on-line learning technology, the subject has four modules: Organisation and Expectations (how to manage time, form good study habits and meet the expectations of university study); Academic Conventions in reading and writing; Taking notes/making notes (how to get the most from weekly readings, research and lectures/seminars); The assignment writing process (how to effectively read and interpret topics, plan and produce successful assignments). A subject reader will be available.
