Subject outline
Students study semiconductor device theory, device ratings and models for BJT, FET and MOSTET devices. Device biasing and operating point analysis, small signal transistor amplifier design and analysis, frequency response of simple amplifiers; gain-bandwidth product, feedback and feedback topologies, input and output resistance, frequency response with feedback. Differential amplifier configurations, common and differential mode gain and common mode rejection ratio, current sources, operational amplifier and active filters design.
