READING SUBJECT A

Subject outline
In exceptional circumstances, individual reading subjects may be arranged in a student's area of interest. A reading subject should normally be taken with a member of staff who has already taught the student concerned. A reading subject is to be seen as a piece of library research. As attendance/discussion requirements are lighter than for an on-campus subject, the amount of reading is expected to exceed by far that required for a face-to-face student. Students proposing to enrol in a reading subject should discuss this matter first with the proposed supervisor, who must countersign the enrolment form before enrolment will be accepted.
