Subject outline
Students of the subject will examine possible roles in an early childhood context and recognise their own goals for leadership and management, identifying what success will mean in their future professional and personal lives. They will also investigate the issues that shape early childhood leadership such as: policy, legal requirements, political influences, professional management, staff dynamics and wellbeing and geographical and socioeconomic factors. Additionally, students will explore the varied forms of leadership that can be used to advocate for a stronger recognition of early childhood education as a professional entity.
