Subject outline

Current industrial best practices in software development using widely applied Microsoft tools and platforms in the software industry will be explored. The subject has three modules. Module 1: Programming in C# with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, covers programming techniques in C# language and .NET Framework, and C# integration with dynamic languages and COM components. Module 2: Introduction to Microsoft ASP.NET 3.5, development techniques for Microsoft .NET Framework will be explored, including Web Application Fundamentals and ASP.NET Architecture. Module 3: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Application Development, covers SharePoint2010 development which includes: business connectivity services, SharePoint 2010 applications, and content management solutions. The subject materials are provided by Microsoft Higher Education; and whilst the certification exam is not part of this subject, it will prepare students with the required knowledge and skills to sit for a Microsoft certification exam.
