Academic rights
Assessment reviews and remarks
If you have questions or concerns about a mark, you can ask for your assessment to be reviewed. After the initial review, you may also be able to request a formal remark if you believe your work wasn't marked according to the published rubric.
Appeals
You may have the right to appeal to the University Appeals Committee for certain decisions about academic progress, academic misconduct or general misconduct. If a decision can be appealed, we’ll let you know about your options and how to lodge an appeal.
Advocacy
The Student Advocacy service is a free, independent and confidential service available to all La Trobe students. They will listen, help to work out problems with you and support you through university processes.
If you're seeking a review or remark, or appealing a decision, you have the right to get help from a Student Advocate.
They can help you understand your situation, your options and University processes, including reviews, appeals and complaints.
