McFarlane's Hill residences
McFarlane's Hill residence provides an additional 28 beds to La Trobe University students.
With a modern and spacious design, this 28 bed residence is divided into two, two-storey buildings, with seven bedrooms on each floor. This includes shared common areas; fully furnished kitchen, lounge/dining, bathrooms, and laundry. Bedrooms are spacious and individually climate controlled.
The kitchen is supplied with a kettle, toaster, sandwich maker and rice cooker. Residents are responsible for providing their own cutlery, crockery, cooking equipment, utensils and personal items.
Bedrooms consist of a king single bed (with a mattress protector), bedside table, desk/chair/lamp and build in cupboard and drawers. Residents are responsible for providing all linen and personal items.
Disabled accommodation options are available.
The rental cost in 2016 is $178 per week, or $25.40 per day. Casual short-term bookings (under 28 days) from $35 per day. This cost is for room only, and does not include catering of food.
Rent is required to be paid in advance at the start of each semester, and monthly accounts will be sent to residents.
Rent is calculated on a daily rate, and includes internet and utilities charges.
Students enrolling in Semester 1 are eligible to apply for a place in the residences for the first 12 months of their course.
Students enrolling mid-year are eligible to apply for a place for only their first 6 months (Semester 2 of their first year).
