What is the La Trobe University Neurodiversity Network?
The La Trobe University Neurodiversity Network (LTUNN, pronounced ‘luh-tun’) brings neurodivergent students and staff together to connect, raise awareness and help make university life more inclusive. Join the student community to meet new people and share your experiences.
What is neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity is a broad term for people whose brains process information, learn, communicate or experience the world in ways that differ from what is considered typical in Australian society.
Neurodivergence is not a diagnosis. People who identify as neurodivergent may have a diagnosis or self-identify with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, OCD, sensory processing disorder, tic disorders or other forms of neurodivergence.
Everyone experiences neurodivergence differently – there's no one way to be neurodivergent.
Join LTUNN
Join the LTUNN student community on Microsoft Teams to connect with other neurodivergent students and be part of a university-wide peer network.
As a member, you'll also have opportunities to share your views and help make La Trobe more inclusive for neurodivergent people. LTUNN works with members to identify ways to improve university life, including campus activities, policies and services. This could include taking part in focus groups, interviews and surveys.
LTUNN members can also access the Neurodiversity Sensory Room at the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus. You can find low-sensory spaces across our campuses that don’t require LTUNN membership.
LTUNN is open to neurodivergent students at La Trobe, whether you have a formal diagnosis or self-identify as neurodivergent.
You don’t need to provide evidence of a diagnosis to join. Self-identification is valid and you’re welcome to join LTUNN.
When you join LTUNN, you’ll be asked for some basic information like your name, email address and campus. If you’d like access to the Neurodiversity Sensory Room, you’ll also be asked to provide your student ID and card number.
In accordance with La Trobe’s Privacy and Data policies, we retain a copy of registration forms for 7 years.
