My series Supermarket Secrets explores the influence of global capitalism on consumption practices in the context of the supermarket.

The modern supermarket is a prescriptive and controlling social space and this artwork was born out of my investigation into the hidden manipulative atmospheric, design and marketing tactics employed by supermarkets to influence consumer choices and increase profits.

Supermarket Secrets engages with the everyday and found objects, in particular the assortment of found shopping lists I have collected from my local IGA over the last two years.

My work Maps is a condensed selection of shopping lists from my collection and Buy Me! is a collection of clay and cast products representative of the contents of five shopping lists in particular.
