Congratulations on receiving your Aspire conditional offer. Your Aspire offer is conditional upon formally confirming your Aspire offer by meeting the following requirements:

  • successfully completing the VCE (or equivalent Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate) in 2023
  • meeting the minimum Aspire ATAR for the course offered
  • formally listing the course in your VTAC/UAC preferences list
  • meeting all the course admission criteria (including subject prerequisites and any other selection requirements)
  • Important: Ensure your course code, course name and campus in your Aspire offer email matches your highest eligible preference on your VTAC/UAC preference list (e.g. VTAC Course code: 2100320001, Course name: Bachelor of Business, Campus: Melbourne).

If you do not meet these minimum requirements for your conditionally offered course, do not worry! Second Chance Aspire grants you the opportunity to change your Aspire Preferences and receive a new Aspire conditional offer for which you meet the requirements.

VTAC will start formalising offers from December 2023. The offer you receive will be for the course listed highest on your preference list that you've met all the criteria for. That means, if you receive an offer to a course that is higher on your preference list than your Aspire offer, that will become your formal offer.

Your Aspire offer is conditional, upon meeting the course requirements, which includes the following:

Confirmed Aspire offers will be released from December 2023 and January 2024.

To ensure you confirm your Aspire Conditional offer, list the course as your highest eligible preference on your VTAC Preference List, for which you meet all the admission criteria for. If you are eligible to receive an offer for a course listed higher on your preference list than your conditional Aspire offer, then you will receive that course as your round one offer. You may still be considered for your La Trobe course in subsequent rounds, through the normal selection process via VTAC/UAC.

No, your Aspire conditional offer will only be valid during first round of offers via VTAC/UAC.

Please note that you may still be eligible for your chosen La Trobe course in later rounds via the normal selection process through VTAC/UAC.

If you don’t achieve the Aspire ATAR, before the first round offers you can use Second Chance Aspire to change your Aspire conditional offer to a course in which you do meet the requirements.

Note: Second Chance Aspire is open to VTAC applicants eligible for the VTAC December 2023/January 2024 offer round. UAC applicants and IB students are not eligible for Second Chance Aspire.

Second Chance Aspire is an option to allow students a second chance to change their Aspire offer during the change of preference period if they have not met the admission/selection criteria of their original Aspire offer (Aspire ATAR and/or prerequisite & additional course requirements).

This is not a change of mind circumstance, but a second chance for Aspire students who have missed out on their Aspire course requirements. Students will be notified of the Second Chance Aspire process before change of preference and throughout the change of preference period in December.

An email will be sent to eligible students with a unique link to your Second Chance Aspire application form. This link is unique to your application and must not be shared.

Simply fill out the online form to change your original Aspire offer into another La Trobe course in which you do meet the admission requirements. You will receive your outcome via email before the close of change of preference on 13 December 4 pm, please check the details on this email are correct.
