PHARMACEUTICAL CARE - QUALITY USE OF MEDICINES A

PHA4PCA

2020

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

The ability to integrate and assimilate knowledge is an invaluable skill for pharmacists. This capstone subject aims to integrate knowledge gained in therapeutics subjects and apply it in practice. Workshops and clinical placement provide opportunities to gain experience in providing pharmaceutical care, while case scenarios and oral assessments illustrate the expanding role of the pharmacist in optimising patient outcomes. PHA4PCA and PHA4PCB are designed to be a lead-in to intern year, with learning activities laying the foundation for what is to come during internship, and in professional practice thereafter. Both the Top 30 drugs oral assessment and the case-based oral exams are constructed to reflect sections of the Pharmacy Board of Australia registration exams.
