The research undertaken by academic staff within the Department of Management and Marketing focuses on enhancing the sustainable and socially responsible operation of both Australian and international organisations to positively impact stakeholders including shareholders, managers, workers and their communities. This is achieved through evidence-based practice and strong research partnerships with private sector organisations, government, not-for-profit and community-based organisations.
Our academic staff research and publish on topics of domestic and international significance in marketing, management, human resource management and entrepreneurship, sports management, marketing, tourism, hospitality and events management, and information systems.
The Department is an innovative research hub that focuses on delivering research outcomes that have significant impact on the community and is home to researchers from around the globe. While many of our staff conduct individual research in their areas of specialisation, the Department actively promotes cross disciplinary research that delivers effective outcomes for the private, public and non-profit sectors.

We offer active Honours and PhD programs with our academic members available for PhD supervision in their respective research fields.
The Centre for Sport and Social Impact produces world-class research with a strong community focus. Department of Management, Sport and Tourism academic staff are also making strong contributions to academe through editing some of the world's leading academic journals such as the International Journal of Human Resource Management, the Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Travel Research, and Journal of Nonprofit and Public Sector Marketing.
