Research data management

As a researcher at La Trobe University (LTU), the effective and efficient handling of information generated in the course of a research project is critical.
Our 'Data Ready' guides will help you learn about research data management broadly and in the context of the University. They include information on organising and storing your data, managing sensitive data, publication of data and more.
Data management requirements
There are certain requirements LTU researchers must meet when managing research data and primary research materials.
The Library can help you comply with publication or data sharing requirements. You can also request a consultation with a Research Librarian where you can discuss and get advice on managing your research data and outputs.
Our institutional repository
Open @ La Trobe (OPAL) is LTU's institutional repository. It preserves, promotes and provides worldwide access to publications, theses, data and educational resources for university staff and researchers.
The Library can help ensure your publications:
- are made available subject to copyright and publishing agreements
- have the correct description on their records so they can be disseminated and found
- are discoverable through search engines (such as Google).
