Self-checkout machines

Our Melbourne (Bundoora), Bendigo, Albury-Wodonga and Shepparton campus libraries have self-checkout machines where you can borrow items without going to the service desk:

  1. First, you'll need your student/staff card, CAVAL, La Trobe College Australia or Library card
  2. Go to a self-checkout machine
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen
  4. You'll get a receipt detailing the borrowed items and the due date
  5. Return the items to the Library by the due date or renew them online via My Account.

Service desk

  1. First, you'll need your student/staff card, CAVAL, La Trobe College Australia or Library card
  2. Go to the Library Enquiry/ Loans Desk with the items you want to borrow
  3. Present your student or staff card to Library staff
  4. Return the items to the Library by the due date or renew them online via My Account.

City Campus (Collins Street)

The City Campus (Collins Street) does not have a Library building. There's a small collection of 7-day items at reception on Level 2. You can borrow up to four 7-day items at once using your student/staff card.

You can collect items requested from other campus libraries at the City Campus reception desk during opening hours. You can return items via the return bins at the reception desk or through the return chute at our Melbourne Campus Library.

Bouverie Centre

There's a Library at the Bouverie Centre with a small reserve collection. Items can only be borrowed by Bouverie students and staff. You cannot reserve an item already on loan via 'Request a hold' in Library Search. You'll need to contact the Bouverie Centre reception desk.

If you need physical items delivered from other campus libraries, you may be eligible for remote delivery. You must first register for Remote Delivery.

Clinical Schools

We hold material for clinical schools at the Alfred, Austin, Northern and Royal Melbourne Hospital libraries and the Bendigo Clinical Health School.

To access materials, you must be a staff member or a student on clinical placement at the respective hospital.

If you need physical items delivered from other campus libraries, you may be eligible for remote delivery. You must first register for Remote Delivery.

Sydney Campus

Sydney Library is located on Level 8 and has course books and reading materials for all Sydney Campus courses.
