Meal Times

All Day Care and Margot Prior Wing

  1. Lunch and 2 snacks are provided to the children on a daily basis.  As the Centre does not open until 8.15 am it is assumed that children will have had breakfast before arriving – the meals provided by this Centre are lunch, afternoon tea and late snack. These meals and snacks are appropriate to the children’s developmental needs and meet the minimum ‘Daily Recommended Nutritional Requirements’ (Nutrition Australia, Children’s Nutrition (Fact Sheet 2).
  2. Lunch consists of a two course meal that is nutritionally balanced. Milk and water is offered.  Lunch time normally commences from 11.30 am.
  3. An assortment of fruit and sandwiches is provided for afternoon tea and late snack.  At afternoon tea milk and water is offered. Afternoon tea is offered from 2.30 pm reflecting the needs of the children. The late snack is offered from 5.00 pm.

Sessional Care

Parents are required to bring along their child’s nutritional requirements each day.

Oral Hygiene

If you choose for your child to brush their teeth at the Centre you must provide the toothbrush and an appropriate container for storage. You are not required to provide toothpaste. Toothpaste will not be offered at the Centre due to potential health hazards.

Rest time

When enrolling, or at the commencement of each year, and again in June of each year, you will be asked to complete a form indicating to Centre personnel your child’s/children’s requirements.

Rest period, from lunch to 2pm is flexible. Individual children’s needs is the basis for Centre personnel’s consideration and planning. Parents are encouraged to request changes at any time during the year.
