Academic Writing Month - LTUacwrimo
Academic Writing Month at La Trobe turns 10!
For a decade now every November, no matter the challenges of the year to date, La Trobe researchers have jumped into Academic Writing Month (AcWriMo) to refocus and prioritise writing goals before the year is out.
We know that researchers are committed to academic writing all year long. AcWriMo enables us to clarify and recommit to our writing goals, and surround ourselves with a community of writers who cheer us on.
Whether you need inspiration, motivation or support, there is something in the program for you! There’ll be writing workshops, publishing talks, tweetchats, a light-hearted AcWriMo-themed competition, themed blogposts, and the famous RED writing retreat, which will be held online to enable broad participation.
All AcWriMo events appear in the RED Workshop schedule where you can reserve your place. A summary of AcWriMo-specific event sis provided below. You can also follow our AcWriMo adventures on Twitter with #LTUAcWriMo.
All researchers at all levels are invited to participate.

10th Anniversary Competition - Your Writing Journey: Then and Now
To celebrate 10 years of Academic Writing Month at La Trobe, the RED team is running a competition on the theme of “your writing journey: then and now”.
The rules are simple: Assemble up to 3 images to represent the theme of “your writing journey: then and now”. Images can be accompanied by a title and a small amount of explanatory text (labels, captions, etc). Any image that is free from copyright may be used.
You can assemble a story from existing pictures or photographs, or even draw your own. A comic strip with three frames? Great! Two contrasting photographs representing the ‘then’ and the ‘now’? Also great!
Entries will be judged at the end of Academic Writing Month, with the winner receiving a $250 book voucher.
Deadline: Friday 25 November, 5pm AEDT
