Postgraduate Group Supervision
Our supervision groups are part of Bouverie’s Postgraduate Enrichment Program aimed at building a vibrant learning community for Family Therapy graduates.
GROUP SUPERVISION PROGRAM INCLUSIONS
- 10 x 2-hour supervision sessions
- Closed groups (up-to 6 participants per group)
To maximise continuity and quality of learning, the groups once formed, will remain closed. - Up-to 20 post-training supervision hours for AAFT registration
- Complimentary access to the Family Therapy Enrichment Activities
Session Information
Sessions will be facilitated:
- online or in-person at the Bouverie Centre, Brunswick.
- once a month, from February 2025 to November 2025.
- during morning or afternoon.
- by experienced Family Therapy Supervisors.
- in a structured supervision process to maximise learning in a supportive small group setting.
RELEVANT AUDIENCE
The Postgraduate Group Supervision Package has been designed for clinicians who have completed a Master of Clinical Family Therapy to further learning and development in family therapy.
AAFT ACCREDITED GROUP SUPERVISION
In line with AAFT guidelines for accreditation as a Family Therapist, groups of 5-6 members will meet for 10 x 2-hour sessions over a period of 12-months.
At the completion of the program, members who submit the required Clinical and Supervision Logs can claim up to 20-hours of supervision towards the Supervision hours required for registration as a Family Therapist with AAFT. Therapists already registered with AAFT are also welcome to apply.
FAMILY THERAPY ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES
As part of the Group Supervision Package, members will receive complimentary access to:
- Regular family therapy research updates from the Bouverie Centre’s Research Team, for a period of 12-months.
- Bi-monthly online Q & A Family Therapy Community of Practice Sessions.
- One of our self-paced online courses (up to 7 CPD points) or receive a 50% discount on our longer courses. Please refer to the terms and conditions regarding course enrolment and how to access the course.
Self-paced online learning options
Supervisees can select one complimentary course from the following options:
- Skill Up! Working with First Nations Families (4 CPD points).
- Mini MERTIL (2 CPD points).
- Single Session Family Consultation (5 CPD points).
- LGBTIQ+ Family Matters (4 CPD points).
- Single Session Thinking (SST) (7 CPD points).
- Single Session Thinking: Families with Children and Youth (5 CPD points).
- No Bullshit Therapy (7 CPD points).
Supervisees can access a 50% discount on the following courses:
- Family Therapy Foundations (14 CPD points).
- MERTIL My Early Relational Trauma Informed Learning (12 CPD points).

HOW TO APPLY
- Applicants must submit an expression of interest form by 1 November 2024.
- The Postgraduate Supervisor Coordinator will review applications.
- Applicants will be notified via email of the outcomes of this process, no later than 25 November 2024.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The purpose of these Terms and Conditions is to outline the special conditions related to the Postgraduate Group Supervision Program. Please refer to our General Terms and Conditions for all other terms and conditions.
Applicant – Prospective Supervisees prior to receiving their Letter of Offer
Supervisee – Participants of the supervision group.
Supervisor – Bouverie staff members facilitate the supervision sessions.
- Applicants must submit an expression of interest form by 1 November 2024.
- The Postgraduate Supervisor Coordinator will review applications, and applicants will be notified via email of the outcomes of this process, no later than 25 November 2024.
- If the applicant is successful, a Letter of Offer via email, including instructions with the next step in the process, session allocation, and information about registering for the Family Therapy Enrichment Activities.
- To accept the offer, the applicant must complete the enrolment form, including the initial payment, by the dates outlined in the Letter of Offer to secure their place in the program. See payment terms for more information.
- To decline the offer, the applicant is asked to reply to the ‘letter of offer’ and confirm their intention to withdraw from the program.
- Please Note: If the applicant declines the offer, their position in the program may be offered to another applicant, forfeiting their position.
- If the applicant is unsuccessful and wants their application reviewed, we invite them to email bouverie.postgraduate@latrobe.edu.au with justification and any supporting information. Please allow 5 business days for the review process to occur.
- Payment can be received in full or via payment plan instalments via credit card or Electonic Fund Transfer (EFT).
- For EFT payment details, please contact our Service Support Team at bouverie.accounts@latrobe.edu.au.
- If the Supervisee is paying the total amount in a lump sum, payment must be received in full 10 days prior to the commencement of the first session.
- Payment plan conditions
- Payment plan instalments can be set up during enrolment in the program.
- Instalments will be based on the total cost divided equally into three payments.
- The first instalment must be paid during enrolment and subsequent instalments to be paid every 3 months after that until the balance is finalised.
For example: 1st Instalment: 3 January 2025, 2nd instalment 3 April 2025, Final instalment 3 July 2025 - The first instalment must be paid no later than 10 business days prior to the first session.
- If a payment instalment is overdue by more than 10 business days, the Supervisee will be ineligible to attend any subsequent sessions, until the overdue amount is paid in full. This will impact the number of hours that can be claimed towards AAFT registration.
- If no payment or alternative payment arrangements is made prior to the first session, the Supervisee will be ineligible to attend the session. This may result in exclusion from the program.
- Sessions will be held either in person at the Bouverie Centre or online via Zoom.
- The Bouverie Centre location: 8 Gardiner Street, Brunswick, Victoria.
- If the circumstance arises that the session's location is changed, The Bouverie Centre will give Supervisee prior notice no less than 24 hours before the session.
- Unattended sessions by the Supervisee will not be eligible for a refund.
- Unattended sessions will impact the number of hours that can be claimed towards AAFT registration.
- If the Supervisor cannot attend for any reason, Supervisees will be contacted, and the Bouverie Centre will schedule an alternative session without any additional cost to the Supervisee.
- Self-paced online course: Course selection and enrolment
- Supervisees will receive a course nomination form via email to select their chosen self-paced online learning course.
- The Bouverie Centre must receive course nomination forms by 28 February 2025, or the Supervisee is no longer eligible for complimentary access.
- Once the Supervisee have selected their course, the Bouverie Centre will provide them with a unique course code and course enrolment information, which will be sent via email. This code is not transferrable and only permits one-user to access the course.
- Once enrolled, the Supervisee will gain 3 months access to their chosen course.
- Supervisees must enrol in their chosen course by 30 January 2026.
- Once the Supervisee is enrolled in their chosen course any changes in enrolment status, including transferring to another course, will incur an administrative fee of $50.00 (inc. GST).
