Flow cytometry is a sensitive technology used for analysis or physical collection of fluorescently labelled cells. Parameters measured by the cytometer include relative cell size, granularity and fluorescence across multiple channels. Data corresponding to each cell is plotted in histograms and dot plots to enable cell subsets to be precisely defined, compared and quantified.
Flow Cytometry offers researchers access to sophisticated equipment for both cell analysis and cell sorting. The facility provides users with training and technical support to self-operate our two cell analysers. A cell sorter located in a PC2 certified laboratory is also available to interested researchers on a collaborative basis.
FACSCanto II HTS cell analyser (3 laser)
Use this cell analyser with 3 lasers (blue, red, violet) to measure up to 5 fluorescence channels plus forward and side scatter. This instrument also offers a convenient high-throughput sampler for automated analysis of cells in a 96-well plate.
FACSCanto II HTS cell analyser (2 laser)
Use this cell analyser with blue and red lasers to measure forward scatter, side scatter and up to 4 fluorescence channels. The instrument includes a convenient high-throughput sampler for automated analysis of cells in a 96-well plate.
FACSAria III cell sorter (4 laser)
Access this sorter in a PC2 certified facility on a collaborative basis. Configured with 4 lasers (violet, blue, yellow/green, red) and multiple detectors this instrument is suitable for sorting based on 11 fluorescent parameters plus forward and side scatter. Deposition of up to 4 cell populations simultaneously in tubes or plates, with temperature control.
The facility provides users with access to FCS Express 3 software for data analysis (limited license).
