La Trobe College Excellence Scholarships
Do you have an excellent academic record? Apply for a La Trobe College Excellence Scholarship and receive up to a 25% reduction on your course fees.
La Trobe University values academic excellence. If you are a high-achieving international student and thinking about applying for a full-fee paying place in undergraduate or postgraduate study, your application will also be assessed for eligibility to receive a scholarship for the duration of your intended studies at La Trobe.
The La Trobe College Excellence Scholarship (CES) is a scholarship available to cover tuition fees for high-achieving international students accepted into our undergraduate and postgraduate coursework programs. The scholarships are worth between a 15%, 20% and 25% deduction on annual tuition fees for the duration of your studies and are limited in number.
Who is eligible?
You must be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand and be applying to start an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program. This scholarship is not available to students who are currently enrolled in a La Trobe program.
You must meet our English language and academic entry requirements. You are not eligible if you are starting a Postgraduate Research degree, Exchange program, Study Abroad program, Postgraduate Enabling Program, ELICOS, Foundation Studies program, or Diploma course.
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you must:
- be applying to study an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at all La Trobe campuses (excluding Sydney).
- meet course prerequisites and have equivalent to a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 65 per cent or higher (Australian Equivalency).
LTU WAM (or equivalent) of 65 – 69.99
15% scholarship on annual Fees
LTU WAM (or equivalent) of 70 -74.99
20% scholarship on annual Fees
LTU WAM (or equivalent) of 75 and above
25% scholarship on annual Fees
How to apply
It’s simple, all you need to do is apply for your course, if your chosen course is eligible to receive the scholarship and you meet the course entry requirements, the Scholarship Team will consider your scholarship eligibility.
Once you receive your scholarship award letter (via email), its is important that you meet any conditions in your offer (if applicable) and accept your offer as soon as possible to secure your scholarship.

Undergraduate and postgraduate regional campus scholarships (up to $5,000)
These scholarships offer up to $5,000 worth of tuition fees for international students studying undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs at one of our regional campuses.
Who is eligible?
You must meet the English language and academic requirements for your course, and have an unconditional offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at one of our regional campuses.
How to apply
Indian Woman Access scholarships (up to $80,000)
The Indian Woman Access Scholarship provides financial support to an Indian female student (new commencing students only) from disadvantaged social and financial background to study Master of Cybersecurity at our Melbourne campus. This scholarship offer up to $80,000 worth of tuition fees, stipend and other study-associated costs.
The scholarship pays for the recipient’s study costs for the expected duration of the Master of Cybersecurity course. Study costs covered by this Scholarship include:
- full tuition fee
- an establishment fee of A$5,000
- a stipend of A$10,800 per semester (to be paid across four months)
- a payment of A$1,800 to assist with the expenses on IELTS test fee, a visa application fee and a return economy-class airfare

The Australia Awards scheme
This Commonwealth-funded scheme offers scholarship opportunities to international students who want to study in Australia. Postgraduate Research Scholarships for Mexican students
La Trobe partnership with CONACyT (Mexican National Council for Science and Technology) supports high achieving Mexican students accepted and enrolled in Masters and PhD programs at La Trobe. Each year, La Trobe will waive a 25% reduction of the tuition fees for a number of Masters students (up to 2 (two) years tuition) and PhD students (up to 4 (four) years tuition).
CONACyT scholarships cover tuition fees, a stipend and annual support of health cover.
How to Apply
- Candidates must first apply to La Trobe University and receive an acceptance letter. For details on how to submit an application please go to How to apply.
- Applicants then need to apply through CONACyT. Calls are open from approximately April – June each year, please confirm the deadlines on the CONACyT website.
- If you have any questions on the CONACYT process, please contact our in country representative in Mexico· Successful l students will r receive a 25% tuition discount for Master and PhD's programs if they are approved for a CONACYT's scholarship.
Australia Awards Endeavour Research Fellowships
These fellowships are for students and professionals from countries throughout the Asia Pacific, Asia, Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake short-term research or professional development at Australian institutions.
Students on Endeavour Research Fellowships (including Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong and AIEC Research Fellowships) can work towards a Master's degree or PhD with a host institution in Australia for a period of four to six months.
Student on Endeavour Executive Fellowships can undertake a professional development project with a host institution in Australia for a period of one to four months.
USA to Australia Fellowships
The American Australian Association's Education Fund (AAAEF) gives annual awards to US fellows who want to study in Australia. Find out more at the American Australian Association website.
