University Basketball League
The University Basketball League was established in 2020 by UniSport Australia, with La Trobe University becoming a foundation member for the inaugural season.
Students who are selected compete in an eight-week nationwide home and away season against other universities around Australia. In 2022, the UBL competition has expanded to include 11 universities, with Team La Trobe looking to secure the inaugural University Basketball League title after the competition's opening season in 2021 was cancelled due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19.
The league is endorsed by Basketball Australia as a pathway for female and male athletes looking to establish both academic and athletic excellence in Australia.
Our Men's and Women's teams are led by professional coaches and students have access to our world-class Sports Performance Hub. We also work closely with local clubs to ensure the demands of existing club training and games along with university studies will not compromise prior basketball commitments.
