Student placement policy
OTARC researchers offer placements for undergraduate students from a variety of backgrounds.
Eligibility criteria
All placements will depend on the availability of suitable staff to supervise the student.

Priority is given to La Trobe University students on Work-Integrated Learning placements

A minimum of 6 weeks’ notice is required

Students must demonstrate a prior interest in the autism field

Students must hold a valid Volunteer Working with Children Check

OTARC accepts a maximum of two students per calendar year
Please note: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer work experience for secondary school students.

Case study: Josh Vartuli
During placement Josh helped us with a peer-reviewed journal article - Cross-sectional and longitudinal predictors of quality of life in autistic individuals from adolescence to adulthood: The role of mental health and sleep quality (2020). As a co-author, Josh offered valuable perspective to the team.
