OTARC research

Our four Research Programs align with research priorities identified by the national and international Autistic community.

The programs also align with La Trobe University’s research themes and with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We focus on promoting meaningful outcomes across the lifespan and the full range of abilities. We work with other Autism research centres and institutes both in Australia and globally.

We also evaluate new methods to support Autistic people and their families. We translate research to practice by:

  • developing, delivering and evaluating evidence-informed practices and supports
  • embedding research in services and the community
  • training outstanding autism scholars and practitioners
