Pathways and entry schemes

Our vibrant campus culture provides an inclusive setting for you to thrive.

We pride ourselves on creating a supportive learning environment for everyone to succeed. Our student community comprises school leavers, parents, people with TAFE qualifications, first nations people and people from refugee backgrounds.

Our student adviser team love talking to prospective students and helping you to plan your path to La Trobe. Book online for a one-on-one consultation and we will guide you through the steps.

School leavers

At La Trobe, there’s more than one way into university through the Aspire early entry programs.

We have multiple streams to choose from, so if you’ve given back to your community, achieved good results in Year 11 or taken extra university studies, you could get an early conditional offer into your dream course.

Students who want peace of mind can secure an early conditional offer with Year 11 grades through the Aspire Year 11 Conditional Entry program.

You can also start your transition in Year 12 by completing university undergraduate subjects or micro-subjects during your Year 12 studies with our Aspire Early University Study program (available to scored and unscored VCE students).

Our Aspire Community Contribution Program rewards students with volunteering or community service experience with an early offer to uni.

Our Regional Benefits Program empowers high-achieving students to live, study and thrive in regional Victoria.

Non-Year 12 or mature age

If a change in career is on the cards for you, our Campus is the perfect place for you to succeed. Our Tertiary Preparation Program can help facilitate your entry to uni or help you use your work and life experience in your course application as a pathway to uni.

TAFE pathways

Our strong relationship with Wodonga Institute of TAFE creates seamless pathway opportunities for you to use your TAFE qualification as a stepping stone into university. Study at Wodonga TAFE in Business, Accounting, Community Services or Nursing and use this as credit into a degree at our Campus.

Getting an Aspire offer allowed me to know that the hard work I was putting into Year 12 was going to be worth it. It gave me the perfect backup option and gave me some space to breathe! I was able to enjoy more of the little things in Year 12, knowing that I was pretty well in already, even before exams started. The free revision lectures at the end of the year were awesome. Normally, if you want access to those kind of things, students have to travel to Melbourne, which may not be an option before exams. I couldn’t recommend applying more!

After hearing about all the benefits that Aspire provided such as a lower required ATAR, opportunities to be part of the Aspire community and study help I knew I had to apply. And then to hear that the application only required a short statement about what I had achieved in the community there was no question about it! Aspire has definitely helped me to achieve my job as an Ambassador for La Trobe which has opened my reach to other casual jobs at La Trobe. Aspire was a pathway to meeting other like-minded students and staff who I have been able to connect with over the past few years.
