Term of Office: Under the Academic Board Regulations 2019 the term of office for the Chair and Deputy Chair are two years, and will take effect from 28 February 2026.
The Academic Board Regulations 2019 indicate:
- Only a Professor of the University is eligible for nomination for the position of Chair or Deputy Chair in an election
- The following officers are not eligible for nomination for the position of Chair or Deputy Chair:
(a) the Vice-Chancellor;
(b) a Deputy Vice-Chancellor, however styled;
(c) a Pro Vice-Chancellor, however styled;
(d) a professor who reports directly to any of the positions set out above (with the exception of directors of research centres of the University).
If the nominations for each category received exceed the number of required positions, an election will be necessary. In that event, you will be advised and voting documentation will be made available to all members of Academic Board as the electorate.

As part of the nomination process, nominees are required to create a profile and supply a high-quality professional image smaller than 8MB (150px x 150px portrait). This profile and photo will be viewable to all members of Academic Board on the external voting election site during the voting period.
Nominees will also need to upload evidence of nomination by two Professorial staff members. This must be in the form of a saved email.
